this is probably because baidu does not encode the search string properly.
in any case, search engines support is not done yet, when it will be implemented, there will be a place to treat baidu and other search engines with non standard encodings.
Well, Baidu in Alexa Rank is 4. So many people use it.
And if you can fix the problem, I’d like to translate it to Simplified Chinese.
Cheers.

Adam,
frankly I don’t think its my bug.
http standard says that non ascii characters in URLs should be urlencoded.
when I will have a special section for search engines terms I will try to deal that problem on a per-search-engine basis (there are other with similar problems).
in the mean time, you are welcomed to translate it anyway.
Great tool. I’ve installed it on two WordPress blogs that I maintain. One offers tabbed navigation of the FireStats plugin, the other does not. How can I make the second site offer tabbed navigation of FireStats?
8omry 29 November 2006 @ 1:03 pm
do you have any havascruot errors on the second one?
some plugins can cause it.
I’m confused since both blogs run on the same system, using the same PHP install, MySQL and Apache servers, etc… Just different instances of the same version of WordPress and different directories.
Where would I find indication of the “havascruot” errors?
12omry 29 November 2006 @ 1:39 pm
Mark, javascript errors usually appear at the status bar of the browser.
Try to disable other plugins, see if FireStats works correctly without them.
There were no javascript errors, so I disabled all plugins and methodically added each and checked FireStats in between each addition. It is quite clear that there is an incompatibility with the Sociable plugin (http://push.cx/sociable).
Any thoughts?
Mark
14omry 29 November 2006 @ 2:12 pm
yes.
you are encountering an incernation of bug #51.
I bet there are javascript errors that you just don’t see for some reason. try to install firefox dev toolbar or FireBug (a javascript debugger that has nothing to do with FireStats) and see if you get the errors.
the problem has to do with nasty behavior from the sociable plugin, if I remember correctly it inject some broken javascript to all admin pages.
Hello, Another Blog I owned will appear the problem below after I activate it.
ezSQL (v2.03-firestats) Debug..
Last Error — [You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'START TRANSACTION' at line 1]
Query [4] — [START TRANSACTION]
Query Result..
No Results
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'START TRANSACTION' at line 1]
SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE post_status = ’static’ ORDER BY post_title ASC
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'START TRANSACTION' at line 1]
SELECT * FROM wp_users WHERE ID = ‘2′ LIMIT 1
Adam,
The first problem is most probably due to unsupported mysql version.
the minimum version officially supported is 4.0.17 (check the FAQ on the trac site), what are you using on the blog?
FireStats looks great. Only one problem: I can’t seem to install it. Looks simple enough, though I think either I lost it, or the wp install guide is not sufficient.
Anyway, this is my problem:
Uploaded Firestats in the root of my WP dir.
Dragged firestats-wordpress.php to the wp-content/plugins dir and enabled the plugin.
Went to the Dashboard tab, and was directed to the Firestats Options settings, where I try to direct the paths but alas no luck.
Peter, is there a reason why you are not installing in hosted mode?
you seem to be trying to install in satellite mode, which is a harder installation.
for hosted mode follow the very simple instructions here
Please note that you need to put FireStats in your plugins directory, IE: /…/blog/wp-content/plugins/firestats/
Tnx Omry. Seems that I did a no-no. Now it seems to work fine. I actually did it right the first time, but somehow I dragged the php file into the plugins dir, which must be why it didn’t work. Now its time to play.
As a thanx for the help I translated FireStats to Danish according to your guide. Hope it is usable.
I have sent it in an email.

Peter, thats great!
This the second translation I get in the last 24 hours, the other is Polish .
This makes a nice birthday present for me (was 29 yesterday).
There also seems to be some problem in my WP firestats. I see no number just dashes (-) also thwn i try to refresh the statistics, no sand-clock icon appears. What can be the problem. I tried reinstalled nothing happens.
Second prob is in the “Firestats Installer” plugin i enter Password and retype new password and press the DONE button but no action is fired, it’s like a dead button. What can be the problem. If anybody can help me out pls drop the solution in my contaqact form. Thank you in advance

hello, the firestats doesn’t support simplified Chinese correctly.
The best search engineer site in China is baidu.com, and I cannot get the referred address with keywords.
such as
http://www.baidu.com/s?wd=&cl=3

LOL!
havascrout errors are what happens when you type javascript errors quickly, without ever looking at what you wrote.
